For many years most people have been depending on computers, television and telephones in order to communicate. However, a newly invented system appears to be altering this trend. With the new system, communication via texts and pictures will be a thing of the past. The system makes it possible to communicate using all the senses and has a built-in feature called “eye contact”, which, for the first time in history, makes it possible for the user to interpret facial expressions as well as surroundings using more than two dimensions. The new system actually becomes one with its surroundings, completely removing response time and thereby giving the user a lifelike feeling of presence in the same room. The new system costs nothing, doesn’t break down, is not depending on manuals, paper, keyboards or screens and is designed in such a user-friendly manner that one almost forgets it’s a system at all. Transmission occurs without the use of cables, satellite dishes or even electricity. No doubt this technology is here to stay.
But how was this revolutionary discovery made? The idea emerged from a group of co-workers at a large company that, for many years, communicated using traditional electronic methods. During a workday certain employees could hear sounds from neighboring offices – sneezes, yawns, burps and hiccups, causing several of them to begin experimenting using similar sounds in order to communicate. Soon they were able to convey simple messages in a kind of code and within a couple of months they improved the technique and developed countless words with many different nuances. In order to increase their vocabulary, the employees also began to clap, snap their fingers and knock on windows and walls. During an argument with a person in a neighboring office one of the employees knocked so hard on the wall that the wall caved in, and there they stood – face to face. It was in this historic moment that the two of them discovered the new communication system, which soon came to be called “Conversation”.
Personally, I believe conversation is one of the most sensational and creative inventions the world has ever seen. Conversing is a method of communicating that will have great consequences for every home and business that uses it. By conversing at home it will no longer be necessary to sit alone in front of the computer. At the workplace it will be possible to get up and go into the office next door to convey a message to a colleague. Besides being a source of physical exercise, one will gain a more precise knowledge about the person one is communicating with, thus saving the users a lot of irrelevant communication, misunderstandings and wasted time. Another interesting aspect of conversation is that the more one uses it with a certain person the more significance that person becomes. Naturally, this is also possible with old-fashioned computer based communication, but through conversation the process is accelerated. The developers of the new communication system call this phenomenon “exponential bonding”.
When using conversation you will become accountable for what you say; it will no longer be possible to hide behind a screen or use technical problems as an excuse for poor communication skills. Conversation is thereby destined to be a real time-saver. By using it you can immediately detect another person’s true feelings or state of mind – and react accordingly. Furthermore the user will be able to enhance his or her communication skills through the interpretation of body language, facial expressions and daring to create simple eye contact. Eye contact can, in the beginning, be difficult to get accustomed to and may require that the user builds up a basic self-confidence. It is therefore recommended that new users wear a ski cap and sunglasses when beginning to converse.
.
Even though it will require a great deal of readjustment, I am convinced that there will be a huge global market for conversation. Schools teaching conversation will have to be established and an advanced terminology describing all the new subtle conditions between the users will no longer be used by experts only. The man on the street will have to learn academic terms like: “love”, “nearness”, “trust” and “intimate relationship”. If the right infrastructure can be established utilization of the system will be possible anywhere, at any time, and will be applicable in many different contexts, giving the user greater flexibility, freedom and ultimately more self-confidence. Proper implementation of conversations in homes and businesses will require special training courses, and no one must be left out. In the future, those who do not learn to converse will fall behind – will be unable to find jobs and will not be able to participate in shaping society.
So, hurry up and get started! Buy a ski cap and a pair of sunglasses and converse your way into the future.
