Carsten Graff: Born 1962. Philosopher. MBA computer science. Author (books, film scripts, plays), musician, columnist, studio host (radio and TV).
In 1996 - after 10 years as a software designer and IT-consultant – Graff turned his back on the computer industry and became Denmarks leading computer critic. His books can be seen as an attempt to look beyond systematically, technological and scientific thinking.
Today Carsten Graff is one of Denmark’s most popular writers, teachers and lectures. Graffs work is focused around his urge to find the meeting point between thoughts and action. Both the body and the brain has a mind. Philosophy should therefore create the basis for something more than just words and abstract thought.
On this basis Graff has for a number of years turned his own life into a philosophical experiment. All his thoughts and ideas are closely connected to his own way of living. His aim is to improve his ability to sense his own emotions and own thoughts.
According to Graff most people are not taught how to use philosophy, but only how to remember it. We are not taught how to think for our selves, but only how to remember what others have already thought.
Graff has turned his back on established philosophical schools and calls himself a real-life-philosopher, a specialist in nonhabitual thinking, an expert in wasting time, in unscientific thinking, ignorance, wondering, forgetfulness and a writer of books telling the reader not to follow Graffs line of thinking, but to close the book and think for her- or himself.
